The following OPITO’s approved Emergency Response courses are offered;

• TBOSIET with EBS & TSBB (offered every week on Monday – Wednesday & Thursday – Saturday)

This 3 day course includes the following modules:
Safety Induction, Survival Theory & Practical, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET),
Basic Fire Fighting & Self Rescue Training and First Aid.

• BOSIET with EBS & TSBB (offered every week on Monday – Wednesday & Thursday – Saturday)

This 3 day course includes the following modules:
Safety Induction, Survival Theory & Practical, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
with EBS (Emergency Breathing System). Basic Fire Fighting & Self Rescue Training and First Aid.

• TFOET with EBS & TSBB (offered every week on Monday & Thursday)

This 1 day course includes the following modules:
Helicopter Under Water Escape Training (HUET), Basic Fire Fighting & Self-Rescue
Training and First Aid.

• FOET with EBS & TSBB (offered every week on Monday & Thursday)

This 1 day course includes the following modules:
Helicopter Under Water Escape Training (HUET)  with EBS (Emergency Breathing System).
Basic Fire Fighting & Self Rescue Training and First Aid.

• HUET with EBS (offered weekly on Wednesday afternoon)

This 1 day course includes the following modules:
Donning Of EBS (Emergency Breathing System) and Transit Suit EBS Familiarisation Exercise (Dry & Wet) and Helicopter Escape Practical Exercises

• TSBB (offered weeekly on Wednesday afternoon)

This 90 minute course includes the following modules:
Boat Travel Procedure, Personnel Transferring Technique And Survival Techniques.

• MIST (offered weekly on every Thursday – Friday)

The 2 day course modules include:
Major Accident Hazards, Workplace Hazards and Personal Safety, Risk Management, Control of Safety & Helicopter Safety.

• Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Initial Deployment Training (CA-EBS) (offered daily)

The aims and objectives of the 1.5 hr training are to ensure that the delegate gains the required knowledge and understanding of the particular hazards and properties of a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) and appropriate practical emergency response actions to take should the requirement for emergency deployment arise.

• Banksman and Slinger Training Stage 1 & 2 (offered every week on Monday – Wednesday & Thursday – Saturday)

The aims and objectives of 3 day Stage 1 Initial Training Programme are to provide personnel, who have little or no experience of the Banksman & Slinger role, with the basic knowledge of activities associated with the combined roles, and the safety and regulatory requirements of those activities. The Initial Training Programme allows the delegate to demonstrate basic Banksman & Slinger practical skills following instruction and demonstration by the training staff. This Training Programme aims to prepare the delegates for the next stage of the progression path to becoming a competent banksman & slinger i.e. Stage 2: supervised workplace experience.

 

Other Competence Based Courses

 

• Rigging & Slinging (offered upon request)

This 3 day course provides knowledge and skills to undertake Rigging & Slinging activities in safe manner in accordance with OpCo HSSE guidelines and industry best practices. The delegates will be able to demonstrate the required minimum standard of competence in undertaking Rigging & Slinging activities.

• Banksman (offered upon request)

The aim of this 3 day course is to enable participants to discharge their duties as a fire warden in the event of a fire outbreak and the evacuation of personnel from buildings when a fire alarm sounds or when an evacuation order is issued.

• Forklift Operator Safety (offered upon request)

This 3 day course provides the delegate with necessary knowledge and skills to operate forklift truck in safe manner, in line with OSHA LOLER/PUWER guidelines and industry best practices and to enhance awareness of risks associated with lifting and hoisting operation, roles and responsibilities and local governance regulation.

• Basic Fire Fighting (offered upon request)

This 1 day course provide skills & knowledge to the delegates to enable them to operate basic firefighting and protection equipment safely and correctly.
